O Beautiful Butterfly Poem

O Beautiful Butterfly!

- Poem by me

O Beautiful Butterfly,

How did you die?

Did someone clip your wings?

Did someone asked you not to fly?

I am sure you wanted to soar high.

I am sure you wanted to fly.

But I am not sure what went wrong,

I wonder how you died?

Did some bird peck you,

Unaware of the harm it could cause to you?

Did some passerby step on you,

Unknown to your existence?

I am sure they meant no harm,

But it won't bring you back.

Back to life that you wished to live,

Back to soar high.

I know you wanted to live.

I know you wished to survive.

But I will always remember you,

As I saw you die, o beautiful butterfly!

Family Tree Poem by Ron Tranmer

I came across this poem on family tree which is inspirational and beautiful. It touches the chord and makes you smile.

 Family Tree Poem

      - By Ron Tranmer

There's love within our family tree
and happiness abounds.
It's roots are deeply planted
in rich and fertile ground.

We enjoy the rays of sunlight,
and endure the winds and rain.
And when a leaf falls from our tree,
together we share the pain.

God gave us earthly families
and never did intend,
that bonds of love built on earth,
upon our death would end.

For when our life is over
and from earth our souls will flee.
one by one, leaf by leaf
we will rejoin our family tree.

The Beautiful Moon Poem

This 'The Beautiful Moon' Poem is beautiful. This poem refers to the moon as 'she' and talks about her loneliness but still about her ability to lock up her emotions and guiding those who are in need of light to show them the way. I hope everyone enjoys this poem the way I did!

The Beautiful Moon Poem

 - By Unknown

How beautiful is the moon,
Glowing bright in the night skies.
Hiding herself during noon,
So you'll never know if she cries.

Alone she sits in the sky,
Guiding those who need the light.
Warming the hearts of those who cry,
But always keeping herself locked up tight.

Though surrounded by many stars,
In solitude she rather be.
A consequence produced by scars,
Shh... Can you hear her silent plea?

Away from people, away from pain,
She hides herself, in plain sight.
I've told you once and I'll tell you again,
The story of a beautiful moon
Whose light glows brightest at night.

Believe in Yourself Poem

This poem 'Believe in yourself' is wonderful and motivating. It allows us the strength and hope of believing in oneself enough to do what we think we can do. It takes away the negativity and inspires us to keep going. I am not sure who the poet is but it is a wonderful work..

Believe in Yourself Poem

- By unknown

Believe in yourself and in your dream,
Though impossible things may seem.
Someday, somehow you'll get through,
To the goal you have in view.

Mountains fall and seas divide,
Before the one who in his stride,
Takes a hard road day by day,
Sweeping obstacles away.

Believe in yourself and in your plan,
Say not - I cannot - but , I can
The prizes of life we fail to win
Because we doubt the power within.

The Woodpecker Poem

The Woodpecker Poem

        - By Anonymous

A little bird, black and blue,
One day on my window flew,
Tap, tap, tapping on my window frame.
"Don't you do it, it's a shame."
I said.

"Peck, peck pecking on a wood,
That's the way I find my food.
People love my tapping sound,
Ans that's the way I am found."

"I am busy as a bee,
That is why I am happy you see,
That air is filled with my song.
Tap, tap, tapping all day long."

Little children learn from thee,
To be as busy as busy can be.
At your work or at your play,
Remember the woodpecker everyday.

Ignite The Fire Within Poem By Anonymous

Ignite The Fire Within Poem

     - By Anonymous

Ignite the fire within,
To lend a hand to millions.
Whose arms are stretched out,
To hold your comforting hand.

Fuel the fire within,
With the help of creativity,
Which would not only,
Express your thoughts,
And make you the one
Above the weening masses,
But would also portray
The True realities of life.

Rake the ambers to
Find that spark,
That shall help you understand
The grievances of the poor
And the downtrodden
And help you fulfill their needs.

Do not let the fire extinguish,
Which will strengthen you.
To illuminate the world with
Knowledge and courage.

Sip Your Coffee Nice and Slow Poem By Anonymous

This is a beautiful poem full of positivity and inspiration. This poem makes you realize that life is too short and we shouldn't just spend it worrying about things which are not in our hands. Sometimes the best we can do is sit back and relax and learn to enjoy our coffee.

Sip Your Coffee Nice and Slow

    - By Anonymous

Sip your coffee, nice and slow,
No one ever knows when it’s time to go,
There’ll be no time to enjoy the glow,
So sip your coffee nice and slow.

Life is too short but feels pretty long,
There’s too much to do, so much going wrong,
And most of the time you struggle to be strong,
Before it’s too late and it’s time to go,
Sip your coffee nice and slow.

Some friends stay, others go away,
Loved ones are cherished, but not all will stay ,
Kids will grow up and fly away,
There’s really no saying how things will go,
So sip your coffee nice and slow.

Before you know it seasons have changed,
Those precious little moments are part of yesterday,
Most things have turned out relatively okay,
And you finally reap what you have sown,
So sip your coffee nice and slow.

In the end it’s really all about love,
For this world and it’s beauty and the stars above,
For His grace in your life, for each present moment,
Smile and breathe and let your worries go,
Just sip your coffee nice and slow.

The Sea Calls Poem By Anonymous

Recently came across this poem, don't know who wrote it. But the words are beautiful. Wish I knew who wrote such beautiful lines. Awesome work.

The Sea Calls

             - By Anonymous

So many long years have passed
Since my love sailed the sea
And many long hours I've spent
For his return to me.

They say that when the sea does call
It courses through your veins
And it matters not where you are
She will claim her reign.

To sail beneath the bonnie sky
Was all he dreamed to do,
Explore the oceans far and wide
Across the briney blue.

He promised to return to me,
Before the winter came.
But the sea winds have yet to bring
Nothing more than his name.

Light Up The Fire Poem By Rumi

Light Up The Fire

    - By Rumi

I gaze into the heart, lowly it may be,
Thought the words be higher still.
For the heart is all the substance,
The speech an accident.

How many phrases will you speak,
Too many for me.
How much burning, burning will you feel,
Be friendly with the fire, enough for me.

Light up the fire of love inside,
And blaze the thoughts away.

A Dream Within A Dream Poem by Edgar Allan Poe

A Dream Within A Dream

        - by Edgar Allan Poe

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

At The Twilight Poem By Rumi

At The Twilight

     - By Rumi

At the twilight, a moon appeared in the sky;
Then it landed on earth to look at me.

Like a hawk stealing a bird at the time of prey;
That moon stole me and rushed back into the sky.

I looked at myself, I did not see me anymore;
For in that moon, my body turned as fine as soul.

The nine spheres disappeared in that moon;
The ship of my existence drowned in that sea.

The Road Not Taken Poem By Robert Frost

The Road Not Taken Poem

     - By Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

Bad Dreams Poem By Rumi

Bad Dreams

         -  By Rumi

One day you will look back

and laugh at yourself.

You'll say,

'I can't believe I was so asleep!

How did I ever forget the truth?

How ridiculous to believe

that sadness and sickness

Are anything other than bad dreams.'

The Breeze at Dawn Poem By Rumi

The Breeze at Dawn

-By Rumi

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.

People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.

The Guest House Poem by Rumi

The Guest House Poem by Rumi is one of the well known poem that has been recited all around the world. The words of Rumi set chord with your heart and you just enjoy them.

The Guest House Poem

  - By Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

 A joy, a depression, a meanness,
Some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.

 Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
Who violently sweep your house
Empty of its furniture.
Still treat each guest honorably,
He may be clearing you out
For some new delight.

The dark though, the shame, the malice,
Meet them at the door laughing,
And invite them in.

 Be grateful for whoever comes,
Because each has been sent
As a guide from beyond.

Amazing Peace: A Christmas Poem by Maya Angelou

Amazing Peace: A Christmas Poem by Maya Angelou is a beautiful poem which inspires the peace and hope of Christmas to light up our holidays. This poem promises to instill faith and belief in people especially children, to lighten up and be happy during Christmas and await goodness of life.

Amazing Peace: A Christmas Poem

     by Maya Angelou

Thunder rumbles in the mountain passes
And lightning rattles the eaves of our houses.
Flood waters await us in our avenues.

Snow falls upon snow, falls upon snow to avalanche
Over unprotected villages.
The sky slips low and grey and threatening.

We question ourselves.
What have we done to so affront nature?
We worry God.
Are you there? Are you there really?
Does the covenant you made with us still hold?

Into this climate of fear and apprehension, Christmas enters,
Streaming lights of joy, ringing bells of hope
And singing carols of forgiveness high up in the bright air.
The world is encouraged to come away from rancor,
Come the way of friendship.

It is the Glad Season.
Thunder ebbs to silence and lightning sleeps quietly in the corner.
Flood waters recede into memory.
Snow becomes a yielding cushion to aid us
As we make our way to higher ground.

Hope is born again in the faces of children
It rides on the shoulders of our aged as they walk into their sunsets.
Hope spreads around the earth. Brightening all things,
Even hate which crouches breeding in dark corridors.

In our joy, we think we hear a whisper.
At first it is too soft. Then only half heard.
We listen carefully as it gathers strength.
We hear a sweetness.
The word is Peace.
It is loud now. It is louder.
Louder than the explosion of bombs.

We tremble at the sound. We are thrilled by its presence.
It is what we have hungered for.
Not just the absence of war. But, true Peace.
A harmony of spirit, a comfort of courtesies.
Security for our beloveds and their beloveds.

We clap hands and welcome the Peace of Christmas.
We beckon this good season to wait a while with us.
We, Baptist and Buddhist, Methodist and Muslim, say come.
Peace.
Come and fill us and our world with your majesty.
We, the Jew and the Jainist, the Catholic and the Confucian,
Implore you, to stay a while with us.
So we may learn by your shimmering light
How to look beyond complexion and see community.

It is Christmas time, a halting of hate time.

On this platform of peace, we can create a language
To translate ourselves to ourselves and to each other.

At this Holy Instant, we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ
Into the great religions of the world.
We jubilate the precious advent of trust.
We shout with glorious tongues at the coming of hope.
All the earth's tribes loosen their voices
To celebrate the promise of Peace.

We, Angels and Mortal's, Believers and Non-Believers,
Look heavenward and speak the word aloud.
Peace. We look at our world and speak the word aloud.
Peace. We look at each other, then into ourselves
And we say without shyness or apology or hesitation.

Peace, My Brother.
Peace, My Sister.
Peace, My Soul.”

Caged Bird Poem By Maya Angelou

Caged Bird

       - by Maya Angelou

A free bird leaps on the back of the wind,
And floats downstream till the current ends,
And dips his wing in the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage,
Can seldom see through his bars of rage,
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied,
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill,
Of things unknown but longed for still,
And his tune is heard on the distant hill,
For the caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze,
And the trade winds soft through the sighing trees,
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn,
And he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams,
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream,
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied,
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill,
Of things unknown but longed for still,
And his tune is heard on the distant hill,
For the caged bird sings of freedom.

Phenomenal Woman Poem by Maya Angelou

Phenomenal Woman

     - by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

When Great Trees Fall Poem by Maya Angelou

When Great Trees Fall

     - by Maya Angelou

When great trees fall,
Rocks on distant hills shudder,
Lions hunker down in tall grasses,
And even elephants lumber after safety.

When great trees fall in forests,
Small things recoil into silence,
Their senses eroded beyond fear.

When great souls die,
The air around us becomes
Light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly, see with a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
Examines, gnaws on kind words
Unsaid, promised walks never taken.

Great souls die and our reality,
Bound to them, takes leave of us.
Our souls, dependent upon their nurture,
Now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
And informed by their radiance, fall away.
We are not so much maddened
As reduced to the unutterable ignorance
Of dark, cold caves.

And when great souls die,
After a period peace blooms,
Slowly and always irregularly.
Spaces fill with a kind of
Soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
To be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be.
Be and be better.
For they existed.

I Will Be There Poem

Nice lines and beautiful poem. Even just listening to this makes you feel good. As if somebody is there for you!

I Will Be There Poem

       -By Unknown

Whenever you're sad,
or feeling blue,
Just call on me.
I'll be here for you.

Whenever you're happy,
or feeling sad,
Just call on me.
You are going to be glad that you had.

Cause I'm gonna be there
with open arms.
I'm going to be there
to bear your arms.

I may be young,
or tiny like a bug,
but when you're sad
I swear to God,
I give the biggest hugs.

So when you're lonely
or just plain blue,
Just think of me,
And I'll come to you.
